Weir High students earn trip to Pirate game

Weir High School and Weirton Medical Center celebrated academic excellence by raising the “Jolly Roger” Wednesday when 190 students and 10 chaperones took a trip to PNC Park to cheer on the Pittsburgh Pirates. WMC funded the purchase of 200 tickets and Hancock County Schools provided lunches to honor each student who earned distinguished scores or displayed considerable growth in math and English scores from the prior year. Principal Dan Enich accompanied students as one of the chaperones. — Shae Dalrymple
