Post 33 wins in fifth inning

STEUBENVILLE – Post 33 catcher Kai McClurg hit a grand slam in the fifth inning as his team downed Toronto, 16-4, on Tuesday.

McClurg added a double and finished with six RBIs.

Justin Corsi started on the mound for Post 33. He walked two and struck out two in three innings. Devin Ferguson came on in relief and walked two and struck out two in two innings.

Bryan Pierro had a single, double and an RBI for Post 33, while Branden Jones singled in a run. Anthony Zorne, Niko Petrides and Pat Pizzoferrato added singles.

Tyler Owens took the loss for Toronto. He struck out one and walked three in three innings. Nate Stewart pitched an inning in relief with three walks and Blaze Glenn walked a pair in the fifth inning.

Stewart and J. Lane drove in runs for Toronto. Chez Glenn hit a double, while Owens, Dan Zdinak and Jarin McIntosh added singles.

Post 33 improved to 4-1.
