McHendry class holds picnic

WEIRTON – The Myrtle McHendry Sunday School Class held their yearly friendship picnic at the Serbian-American Cultural Center.

President Betty Virtue welcomed all members and guests and read from the class handbook, “Miracles of Friendship.”

Vice President Bonnie Nichols led devotions and read two selections from “Chicken Soup for the Soul” and one from “Our Daily Bread.” She closed with prayer and the table blessing.

No formal business meeting was held.

Sunday School Teacher Eleanor Cline invited those participating to attend the Sunday School class on Sunday mornings. The class is now studying Isaiah.

Treasurer Rhadine Ross gave her report, which will be filed for audit. She also welcomed 16 members and four guests.

June birthdays were acknowledged and “Happy Birthday” was sung.

Following lunch, Nichols introduced Barbara Losey, who lead those in attendance in several games and awarded prizes.

Cline closed the meeting with prayer.
