Baseball association rallies

behind family who lost home

WEIRTON – The Weirton Baseball Association is taking up a collection to benefit the Bone family, who recently lost all of their possessions in a house fire.

Two of the family’s children play at the association’s complex. The association will collect donations for the family at the concession stand at the Kings Creek Road complex for the next couple of weeks. Those who can’t visit the complex, but still wish to make a donation, can mail them to the following: Bone Family, in care of the Weirton Baseball Association, P.O. Box 2844, Weirton, WV 26062.

Senior center holding dance

WEIRTON – The Greater Weirton Area Senior Center will hold their Thursday dance from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday at the center located on Main Street. Light Touch will perform. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.

Country Friends host Eldurays

COLLIERS – Country Friends have canceled their Monday event in observance of Memorial Day.

The group will host the Eldurays Saturday at the Memorial Hall on Old Police Lodge Road. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the Eldurays will perform at 7 p.m.
