Central defeats Knights

STEUBENVILLE – Alex McComb struck out eight, walked four and collected a pair of RBIs on three singles as the Steubenville Catholic Central softball team defeated Toronto, 8-2, Saturday on Steve Zamana Field.

Micca Mirabella and Sammi Giannamore each singled twice with Mirabella picking up an RBI for the Crusaders. Madeline Gulan doubled and Taylor Clark, Kelsey Grandinetti and Fran Capaldi all singled with an RBI.

Kayla Brown doubled and singled twice for the Red Knights. Emily Anderson singled twice for an RBI and Lexie Berger collected two singles.

Toronto (15-8) will be in sectional tournament action at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Shadyside against Bridgeport.

Steubenville Central (21-4) plays Monroe Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday at St. Clairsville.
