Seminars will be beneficial

There is still a great deal of uncertainty when it comes to the effects of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act – better known as Obamacare – especially when it comes to businesses.

With that in mind, the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce has teamed with three area insurance organizations – Assure America, WesBanco Insurance Services and Wells Fargo – to present an educational seminar with the hope of helping to answer some of the questions being asked.

The program, open to chamber member businesses, begins this Wednesday and if you haven’t already registered to take part, we encourage you to do so.

There’s is still time to register, so contact the chamber if you are interested.

Wednesday’s session will focus on the West Virginia Healthcare Exchange system, with discussions on its operation and its impact on employers.

The other two sessions will discuss the health care law’s mandates on individuals and employers.

We all have questions when it comes to this health care law. Some aspects already have gone into effect, but most are still waiting in the wings. None of us, not even those who passed the legislation, have a complete understanding of every aspect of the PPACA. We all have questions and are seeking answers.

This educational series offered by the chamber and our local businesses should at least help to clear up some of the haze surrounding this issue.
